Fiancé / Fiancée or Proposed Civil Partner
A fiance visa in the UK allows a non-EU citizen to enter the country temporarily to marry their British or settled (living permanently) partner. Once married, the non-EU citizen can apply for a settlement visa (also known as a spouse visa).
- The processing time for fiance visas can vary.
- If your application is successful, you’ll receive a temporary visa allowing you to enter the UK to marry.
- After your marriage, you can apply for a settlement visa to live in the UK permanently.
You will not be able to work during your engagement and can stay for 6 months.
With appeals following unsuccessful visa applications often taking months to sort it pays to get your application right the first time.
Our friendly, Immigration Advice Authority (Formerly the OISC) regulated experts can help you quickly identify the right visa for you and successfully navigate the complex application process.
