ELIGIBILITY AND CRITERIA
There are mulitple routes to ILR. These include, but are not limited to:
- Tier 2 (General) visa: You must have lived in the UK continuously for five years on this visa, with no breaks of more than 180 days.
- Tier 5 (Youth Mobility Scheme) visa: You must have lived in the UK continuously for two years on this visa.
- Spouse or partner of a British citizen or settled person: You must have lived in the UK continuously for two years on a spouse or partner visa.
- British citizen parent: If your parent is a British citizen, you may be eligible for ILR if you were under 18 when they became a citizen.
Additional requirements for ILR may also include:
- Good character: You must have not committed any serious crimes or been deported from the UK.
- English language proficiency: You may be required to demonstrate your English language skills, depending on your immigration route.
- Financial maintenance: You may need to prove that you have sufficient funds to support yourself and any dependents.
